 Virginia![]() Hi Dorothy,
Just wanted to send you a couple of pictures of Virginia settling in.  She loves her kennel at night in the bedroom with us and Millie. We get the bed, Millie has a dog bed right next to us, and the kennel is at the end of the bed, so we are all very cozy. This is the bed that she heads to when in the living room with us or visiting.   The granddaughters just love her and Millie is happy and adjusting well.   We took her to the vets today. They removed the stiches.  Neither George nor I could seem to see well enough to dare to take them out.   They said she was fine and healthy.  I started brushing her teeth with special canine  toothpaste and a "Sponge Bob" soft battery operated toothbrush.  She also chews "Greenies".  We have managed to slowly change her diet, so it is just about half old food and half new and she has shown no problems.  She has been very good about going out to the same spot to "do her business".  She loves our daily long walks and shorter ones in the afternoon.  As you know she does not like the rain, so we wait til the weather clears a bit before walking her.  Millie would go out under any conditions and we are pretty used to doing that too.
Thank you for all of your help and coming out on such a "messy" day.  We are anxious for spring, but it is being a little stubborn this year.  Anyway we love her to pieces and she fits into our family perfectly.  We are so happy to have her and have told so many people of our great experience -- hopefully adoptions are picking up -- we are encouraging others to give it some thought.
Take care and thanks again.
Brenda and George
